Pope Francis’ Visit to the Philippines Declared Special Holidays in Metro Manila by Pnoy
Last November, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada declared a four-day holiday in the capital city (from January 15 to 19, 2015) to ensure the security of the Roman Pontiff during his visit.
Pope Francis is arriving in Manila on January 15, 2015 (Thursday). On January 16, he is scheduled to meet the President at the Malacañang Palace, hold Mass at the Manila Cathedral and meet families at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
On January 17, he is expected to meet the victims of typhoon Yolanda in Leyte.
On January 18, Pope Francis will meet the country’s religious leaders at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) and will hold another Holy Mass at the Rizal Park. He will leave the Philippines the next day.
