Unified ‘One-Brand’ News Programs to Kick Off this July 21 on TV5

News5, TV5’s News and Information arm, is set to officially launch its unified ‘one brand’ news programs all throughout the day starting this Monday, July 21.

Unified

Dubbed as “Ang Bagong Puwersa sa Pagbabalita. Handang Tumugon, Anumang Oras, Anumang Panahon”, the new campaign first breaks through via TV5’s brand-new morning news program, “Aksyon sa Umaga” (weekdays at 5:00AM) with News5 Everywhere Head Martin Andanar, multi-hyphenate Lourd de Veyra, and television host Grace Lee all joining forces anew as the show’s main anchors. Now on a more competitive and earlier two-hour timeslot, “Aksyon sa Umaga” delivers the freshest and most relevant news of the day, culminating with an intriguing segment where the three main anchors engage in a discussion over critical issues, called “Men vs. Women”.

When the clock strikes 12, “Aksyon sa Tanghali” (at 12:00NN) takes the spotlight with Cherie Mercado and Raffy Tulfo coming together to deliver developing stories as well as the most important follow-up reports. The noontime news program also welcomes two familiar voices to its fold as popular Radyo5 anchors Attorney Mel Sta. Maria and Edinel Calvario join as segment hosts for “May ‘K’ Ka” (legal advice) and “Healing Galing” (health and wellness), respectively.

News5’s flagship weeknight newscast “Aksyon” (at 6:00PM), now welcomes multi-awarded broadcast journalist and News5 Head Luchi Cruz-Valdes at the helm of the program, together with seasoned Aksyon anchor Erwin Tulfo. Rounding up TV5’s fortified primetime news program is new segment host Chiqui Roa-Puno—now delivering the latest in the world of sports via “Aksyon Sports”—who joins current segment hosts Lourd de Veyra for “Weather or Not” (weather forecast) and MJ Marfori for “Celebrity Aksyon” (showbiz and entertainment).

And, finally, News5 wraps up the day’s top headlines via “Aksyon Tonite” (at 10:00PM) with the tandem of News5 anchors Paolo Bediones and Cheryl Cosim also delivering exclusive follow-up stories on the metro and the nation. Meanwhile, on deck to report for the segments of “Aksyon Tonite” are Shawn Yao for “Presinto5” (crime stories), Jove Francisco for “Aksyon sa Pulitika”, and Lia Cruz for “Aksyon Weather”.

On top of these new news programs, “Aksyon Alerts” will also be giving viewers a quick run-down of breaking news and other relevant updates throughout the day during the weekdays (every 9AM, 10AM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM, 9PM, and 10PM) and the weekends (every 2PM, 3PM, 8PM, 9PM, and 10PM).

With News5’s new unified ‘one-brand’ news programs set to change the landscape of News and Information programming in the country, viewers can look forward to even more hard-hitting, informative and intriguing news content the entire day on TV5, starting this Monday, July 21.
