Success Story of Mekeni Food Corp Owners in ‘My Puhunan’

Broadcast journalist Karen Davila reveals the humble beginnings of multibillion-peso meat processing company Mekeni Food Corporation in “My Puhunan” this Wednesday (Nov 6) on ABS-CBN.

Mekeni owners and former public school teachers Felix and Meding Garcia were already 60 years old when they started Mekeni. Using their retirement pay as capital, they began making and selling tocino at a stall in front of their house. Felix and Meding were able to expand the business on their own, all while raising their kids.

In a span of two decades, Mekeni has evolved into a giant corporation and a food processing leader in the market that brings in more than P110 million every month.

In “My Puhunan,” Karen also features the restaurant and sports center owned by PBA legend Atoy Co, who makes it a point to personally entertain his customers. Aside from showing his business, Atoy also shows the viewers of “My Puhunan” how to prepare his sizzling sisig specialty.
