Julie Anne San Jose is 1st Artist from GMA Records to Hit Quadruple Platinum
After four consecutive hit singles, Julie Ann San Jose received a Quadruple Platinum award for her self-titled debut album in “Sunday All Stars” on June 23. She’s the first artist from GMA Records to hit the status after her album has sold over 60,000 units from combined physical CDs and digital downloads.
Moreover, Julie Anne’s carrier single “I’ll Be There” has already exceeded the Double Platinum Digital Single mark, as certified by PARI, with over 375,000 downloads so far.
During a pocket presscon on Friday, June 21, at Get Laud North EDSA, Julie Anne expressed her excitement on the success of her debut album.
“Nakakatuwa kasi alam mo ‘yun bilang isang singer, ang pangarap ng isang singer ay magkaroon ng album. For me this is more than enough saka sobrang nakakatuwa lang po talaga, di ko po inexpect na aabot siya ng four platinum,” she said.
For the said album, Julie Anne already won several awards. Last March, she bagged the Favorite Mellow Video at the 2013 MYX Music Awards for the music video of her hit single “I’ll Be There.” Her on-screen partner, Elmo Magalona, who was featured in the said project won Favorite Appearance in a Music Video. Furthermore, Julie Anne also won the Favorite Celebrity VJ on MYX and Best Local Music Video Artist at the 9th USTv Awards.
