One Minute Movie Review: ‘Fast and Furious 6’

"Fast and Furious 6" is the sixth entry from Universal Pictures' highly successful franchise. In three words, this installment is sleeker, faster and louder. (SPOILER FREE!)

Main Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel
Supporting Cast: Elsa Pataky, Gina Carano, Jordana Brewster, Luke Evans
Director: Justin Lin
Genre: Action, Crime, Adventure

Gist: A group of wanted criminals known for their vehicular skills are offered amnesty in exchange for their help in capturing a former special ops soldier leading a dangerous team of mercenary drivers. –Universal

The Positive: The problem with sequels is how will the producers surpass the bar set by the original film. In the case of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, how are you going to top all 5 previous films which were all hits among action aficionados. With “Furious 6” (title card of the latest installment), they exceeded all expectations as the franchise progresses with the fastest and most outrageous car chases, fight scenes and stunts ever, not to mention a fresh story with a twist to boot.

Lin is a genius when it comes to action sequences as he keeps the flick live up to its title. As for the chemistry of the whole cast, steered by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, it’s more solid than ever.

The Negative: Some throttling dialogue and heist clichés exist but they don’t slow the film down from satisfying its audience.

Memorable Line: “This code you live by makes you predictable. In our line of work predictable makes you vulnerable. I can reach out and break you any time I want.”

Tag Line: “All Roads Lead to This.”

Quality: 4 stars
Entertainment: 5-stars
