‘She Smells So Nice’ is 1st Single by the Doors in the Last 40 Years

“She Smells So Nice” is the latest song by American rock band Doors. It’s their first in 40 years!

“She Smells So Nice” is actually the band’s unreleased song which was discovered by the album’s co-producer Bruce Botnick when he was reviewing the session tapes for “L.A. Woman” in an upcoming reissue. “She Smells So Nice” will serve as the carrier single for the said album.

The Doors is an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger.

The band took its name from Aldous Huxley’s book “The Doors of Perception,” the title of which was a reference to a William Blake quotation: “If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite.”

The Doors were known in the 60s as one of the most controversial rock bands due mostly to Morrison’s wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. Morrison died in 1971 leaving three members continuing their stints until they finally disbanded in 1973.

The Doors have sold 35 million albums in the US alone and nearly 100 million worldwide. Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger continue to tour as Manzarek-Krieger, performing Doors songs exclusively. They were the first American band to accumulate eight consecutive gold LPs. Three of the band’s studio albums, The Doors (1967), Strange Days (1967), and L.A. Woman (1971), were featured in the Rolling Stone list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, at positions nos. 42, 407 and 362 respectively. In 1993, The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

With the coming reissue of their last album “L.A. Woman,” the Doors is making a comeback in the music scene with the release of “She Smells So Nice. ” The next release from the Doors will come on Jan. 20 when there will be a one-time screening of ‘Mr. Mojo Risin’: The Story of L.A. Woman’ at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The reissue of “L.A. Woman” is set to be released on Jan. 24 featuring eight unreleased versions of album songs.
