Nora Aunor Receives Honorary Award at the 2011 Cinema One Originals Film Festival

Superstar Nora Aunor was honored for her pioneering efforts in Philippine cinema during the awards night of the 2011 Cinema One Originals Film Festival.

Nora Aunor and his “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos” director Mario O’hara were given honorary trophies for their pioneering efforts in independent cinema during the awards night of the 2011 Cinema One Originals on November 13, Sunday, at the RCBC Theater in Makati City.

The honor presented to Ate Guy was not only for starring in a number of the most important works of local cinema but for also producing them. Just as she took great risks as an actor, she gambled on the film projects she believed in. Films like “Banaue,” directed by the great Gerry de Leon, and the adventurous “Tisoy,” directed by the great Ishmael Bernal. Films ranging from the musical romp “Annie Batungbakal” to the Lino Brocka drama “Bona.” And Mario O’hara‘s “Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos,” a classic to stand beside the masterworks of world cinema.
