Earthquake with 5.9 Magnitude Jolts Luzon

If you are still awake around 1:15 a.m. today, July 26, and you are in Luzon, you could have felt the slightly strong earthquake with a 5.9 magnitude.

According to Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLS), an earthquake has struck Luzon early morning on Tuesday just a little more than an hour past midnight. The quake with a magnitude 5.9 was recorded off 35km Southwest of Iba, Zambales at 1:15 a.m. and was felt in other areas in Luzon including in the Philippine capital, Manila.

There were no reports of injuries or damage to property after the duration of the quake.

Intensity IV (moderately strong) was felt in Pampanga, Bulacan, Quezon City, Alabang, Muntinlupa and Cavite.

Intensity III (weak) was felt in Makati, Pasig, Taguig, Mandaluyong, Tagaytay and Cabanatuan City.

Intensity II (slight) was felt in Baguio City.
