Veteran actor/director Robert Redford and Transformers star Shia LaBeouf inked the deal to star in the political thriller titled “The Company You Keep,” which Redford also will direct.

The script will be written by Lem Dobbs (The Limey) and based on Neil Gordon’s best-selling novel. Redford will play a militant wanted by the FBI whose identity is exposed by a young reporter portrayed by LaBeouf.

Robert Redford will co-produce The Company You Keep along with Bill Holderman and Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier. Here’s what Nicolas Chartier had to say about the project:

“This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country’s ideals against their government. Filming is scheduled to start in Vancouver this September.
