Vic Sotto & Bong Revilla Tied as Box-Office Kings, Ai Ai delas Alas is Box-Office Queen

John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo were dethroned. Vic Sotto, Bong Revilla and Ai-Ai delas Alas are 2010 Box-Office Kings & Queen of Philippine Movies.

Vic Sotto and Sen. Bong Revilla are tied as 2010 Box-Office Kings according to Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards committee. Sotto and Revilla’s MMFF collaboration “Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote” was considered the top-grossing Pinoy movie of 2010 although its screening was extended until January 2011. The fantasy-comedy movie raked in a total of P159 million in its 2-week MMFF duration.

Ai Ai delas Alas, on the other hand, is the new Box-Office Queen because her film “Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To!”, also an MMFF entry, has grossed P157 million in its 2-week MMFF duration. The said film was the second highest-grossing Pinoy movie of 2010.

Previous Box-Office King John Lloyd Cruz, who reigned for 3 consecutive years, had 2 box-office hits for 2010. His movie “My Amnesia Girl”, opposite Toni Gonzaga, raked in P144.8 million. His movie “Miss You Like Crazy”, opposite Bea Alonzo, had a total gross of P143.25 million. If you are to sum it up, John Lloyd Cruz delivered P288.05 million at the box-office for 2010.

Unfortunately, the titles Box-office King and Queen are being based from the highest-grossing single movie of a male and female lead that’s why John Lloyd Cruz was dethroned.

The 42nd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards night is happening on May 8 at the RCBC Theater in Makati City.

    Sabi nila, false alarm daw yung announcement na Vic And Bong are the BOk and Aiai is the BOQ. Siguradong si Lloydie ang panalo,(this just my opinion).

    MMFF durations is from Dec 25, 2010 til first week of January 2011….so box office results should be counted only from dec 25 til dec 31, 2010…so kung kukunin ang title ng box office king and queen 2010….di dapat kasali ang MMFF movies…

    IF THEY WANT TO GIVE AWARDS TO REAL AND RIGHTFUL BOX OFFICE KING AND QUEEN……dapat si john lloyd ang box office king 2010….coz his 2 movies are blockbusters…now, for box office queen 2010…it could be bea alonzo or toni gonzaga…

    before kasi, a true box office king and queen are measured sa dami ng movies na pinalabas on a particular year na lahat box office hits….yung ang talagang KING AND QUEEN…..like nung panahon nina nora, vilma and sharon…fpj, robin na madaming hit sa isang taon thats why BOX OFFICE KING AND QUEEN….

    for example…actress A has 2 movies in same year….her 1 movie broke all box office records and yet on the same year her other movie is super flop….i dont think she cant be called box office queen for 2010…

    so far….its clear that john lloyd should be the box office king 2010…..sya lang ang nag iisang leading man for these movies amnesia girl and miss youlike crazy…unlike bong and vix shared credits for the pepeng agimat and enteng kabisote..

    on the other hand, it could be either bea or toni or ai ai for box office queen 2010

    Galing sa Guillermo Mendoza, hindi ito totoo. Ni wala pa raw deliverations na nagaganap kaya hindi nila alam kung saan nakuha ng PEP at Starmometer itong balita.

    if sarah got the BOQ title back in 2008 bec they cut the date off until dec31 only.. they shud follow the same rule for this year! aiai didnt get the title even if her movie grossed a lot more than sarah’s AVSL bec according to them, ticket sales from 2009 shudnt be counted..
    so why include the 2011 ticket sales of mmff movies now? talking about credibility!

    dapat si john llyod cruz at toni gonzaga yan eh. the mmff was held until 2011 so bakit ganun. hindi na dapat counted for 2010 yung box office results ng mmff. bakit nung 2008 sina jlc at sarah g ang naging king and queen kung ganun palang counted for that year ang tally ng mmff. diba mas nalagpasan ni aiai yung a very special love pero sabi daw na counted for 2009 yung mmff kasi lagpas na siya sa 2008. bakit iba na ngayon???

    Eh yung ibang Stars nga, di man lang maka 50M ang kinikita ng films, that FEAT JC achieved was superb. Siya ang dapat BO King!

    nuong si Ai Ai ang nanguna sa takilya ng MMFF hindi sya nakoronahan pero ngayo na ung dalawang babaero ang nanalo nag iba ang criteria at kasali na rin si Ai ai, what gives? papogi points na naman si REvilla na mataas ang pangarap na maging Presidente eh bano naman sa senado.
