Angeline Quinto Wins Star Power

Angeline Quinto from Sampaloc, Manila is the grand winner of Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar.

Akiko, K-La, Angeline, Krissel and Monica competed for the last time Sunday night during the grand finals of Star Power held at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

There were 3 rounds of fierce showdown. Akiko Solon of Cebu was the first to get eliminated during round 1 when each of the final 5 performed a song of their own choice.

During the second round, the remaining four contestants sang songs that were chosen by the judges for them. K-La Rivera was the second finalist to get the boot.

The remaining three finalists–Monica, Angeline and Krissel–each performed an original song from Star Records as their final hurdle.

Monica Sacay of Leyte settled for third place. Angeline Quinto was announced the grand winner while Krissel Valdez of Davao ended up in 2nd place.

The prizes that Angeline won include 1 million Pesos, a car, an entertainment showcase from Sony, diamond jewelries, and a recording contract from Star Records.

Sharon Cuneta also announced during the grand finals that all 5 Star Power finalists will become mainstay of ASAP Rocks beginning this Sunday, February 27.

In our survey, the majority of respondents (36.69%) favored Angeline Quinto to win the title followed by Krissel Valdez (25.7%):

    ganyan talaga ang nangyari if ABS CBN ang mghahandle ng talent shows….I think Krissel was the best maxadong common na ang boses ni Angeline…remember buhay pa c Regine….absolutely di nya kaya…I still like and love Krissel..I am here in Vietnam ngaun…Good luck Krissel you’re still the best para sa akin…

    OK ang quality ng voice ni krissel kumpara sa ibang nakapasok sa top 4,pero kung mataas na ang mga notes niya (ex. sa Higher na kinanta nya during the grand finals at isang performance pa nung madami pa sila– parang muntik na syang pumiyok) na parang hndi na niya maaabot. May mga piyok tendencies si krissel, and she finds it hard to reach high notes (look at how she sings). Though when she sings r&b, maayos na maayos at malinis.

    si angeline naman, well, the kid got potential, too. she has joined singing tilts in the past for the umpteenth time, however, it was really her time to win/shine in Star Power. She deserves winning Star Power and I hope supporters of the program should support them [top 5] all, instead of comparing one from another. 🙂

    nabwiset naman ako sa star power n2..unfair ang mga judges nyo.. napakagaling kaya ng rendition ni K-La kagabi over kay Monica na parang nagintermission number lang. ano yun sya ang 3rd place? grabe naman yan.. ang ganda ng comment ky K-LA tapos sya ang tinanggal pinili pa si Monica bwiset kayo!parehas magaling sina krissel and angeline pero mas may star quality si Krissel

    Krissel – good quality of voice pero not in the league of Sarah. can’t sustain high notes kasi vocal range niya, di ganun ka-wide

    K-LA – I was disappointed with her performance of Listen. Low notes – sablay na sablay. Timing – sablay din. naglagay ng kulot sa di dapat lagyan.

    Monica – good quality of voice pero same as Krissel mababa boses niya.

    Akiko – wrong choice of song. The song does not fit her voice. She should’ve sang songs that Juris or Yeng are singing, not a Beyonce song. Si Sarah at Lani nga, hirap dun sa Dejavu, siya pa kaya?

    Angeline – superb performance! Among the TOP 5 finalists, she has the biggest transformation. From a shy and very simple singer to an A-list performer! Her story is very inspiring. Like Bobot said, he didn’t recognize the old Angeline coz of her performance last night. She is really deserving to win! The emotion, the character, you could really feel it from her while she is singing especially when she sang What kind of fool i am!

    angeline voice power is similar to laarni lozada and of regine velasquez, but dont ever compare regine to angeline or to whoever becoz regine is a legend… many abs singers can sing and many gma singers cannot, thats the fact but regine as iv said is a legend, clarity, quality and voice power is proven and tested and her appeal is proven when she was able to make platinum for a week long release of her albums. i think regine is the best of the best singers in the world, and be proud if many younger singers want to follow her way… sana maabot ni angeline ang narating ni regine.

    my early bet is akiko because i like her simplicity and the texture of her voice is unique. aside from akiko, its krissel. krissel is a total performer and i can see the 100% of her best in her every performance, but when i heard angeline’s rendition of i dont wanna miss a thing last night, i conclude that all of them are greaT and talented except angeline who delivers an extra ordinary performance last nyt, indeed wat a deserving choice of winners!!! kudos! congratulations to angeline and krissel:)

    a copied version of regine velasquez…but uglier and a worst singer…im never watching ASAP again…i hope sarah transfers to gma so i can change stations…what a joke…k-la and akiko gud luck….i was so pissed watching that the judges had negative comment everytime akiko and k-la sang…but with krissel and angeline…they wer perfect to them…this time next time next year akiko and k-la will probably be more famous than this pig…sayonarta stupid staion abs-cbn for being biased…just cancelled my tfc…
