‘Eclipse’ Fails to Beat ‘Iron Man 2’ as No. 1 Hollywood Film in RP

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" fell short of P6.13 million to beat "Iron Man 2" as the top-grossing Hollywood movie in Philippine Box Office for 2010.

For the weekend period of July 28-August 1, 2010, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” has only accumulated P957,846.12 in local theaters on its fifth weekend run. It has lost it steam in the presence of new monster hit movies “Salt” starring Angelina Jolie and the critically flop movie “The Last Airbender” which is doing good at the local box office.

However, the well-loved Vampire movie holds the record for the biggest opening weekend gross by a Hollywood film in the country with a whopping P173 million gross on its opening weekend.
