‘Trudis Liit’ Begins Today

As part of the Kapuso Network's 60th anniversary offering, GMA-7 presents its 20th Sine Novela offering, Mars Ravelo's Trudis Liit.

The afternoon show is the remake of the popular movie and comics character that was first popularized by award-winning actress turned politician Vilma Santos. The movie was first shown back in 1963 and it enabled the Star for All Seasons to win her first-ever FAMAS award.

This time, the title role of Trudis Liit will be brought to life by 5-year old Jillian Ward, who was first discovered in a popular milk brand commercial.

Redgyn Alba, the show’s program manager, believes that Jillian had something more to offer after seeing her in the commercial last year. She was also amazed by Jillian when she guested at the game show of the network Wachamakulit a couple of months ago. Thus, Jillian was immediately cast in the title role of the said show.

The story of Trudis begins as we see her being reared by her adoptive father Lino (played by Jao Mapa). She also has her younger sister, Upeng (Jamaica Olivera) to play with. The only thing missing for Trudis is the love and warmth of her mom Magda (Maricel Morales).

Magda decides to leave the family because she has to earn income. Mercedes or Tita Ched comes to the rescue and looks after Trudis and Upeng.

But tragedy strikes the joyful and serene life of the two sisters when they lose their father Lino. And the two are separated as Trudis is brought to her biological father Nick (Cris Villanueva) who is already married to Honey (Pauleen Luna). But life gets a bit miserable for Trudis as she has to contend with Honey’s sister, Sugar and their mother, Lolly (Gina Alajar stepping in the shoes of Bella Flores’s kontrabida character).

Find out more in the coming weeks as Trudis outsmarts the kontrabidas in her life and charms her way to the hearts of the afternoon viewers of the Kapuso Network.

Catch Sine Novela presents Mars Ravelo’s Trudis Liit, Monday to Friday starting today, June 21, on GMA-7’s Dramarama sa Hapon.
