RP, A Cellphone Country in ‘The Correspondents’
The Philippines has two faces — one face shows Filipinos keeping up with the rest of the world with its citizens, rich and poor, owning cellphones and other gadgets. The other shows citizens still languishing in poverty, without access to a decent toilet, if none at all.
This is the sad reality to be exposed by Karen Davila this Tuesday (June 1) on “The Correspondents.”
According to a study, only 76.8 percent of households in the whole Philippines have bathrooms. In Phase 8 in Caloocan, 252 families share only 25 bathrooms while residents in an area in Pampanga “strike anywhere” to appease the call of nature.
See how the lack of toilets mirror the poverty in the country in Karen Davila’s report this Thursday (June 1) on “The Correspondents,” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
