Inspired by a real life and news account, Himpapawid is a drama which centers around a simple but desperate man from the countryside who came to the city to find his luck. Instead, success eludes him. In his continuing spiraling down into poverty, he becomes a deranged hijacker; this being his last ditch to survive amidst the chaos of modern Philippine society.
