‘Yaya and Angelina’ Earns P34 Million Despite Ondoy Weekend

The first week run of Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid's "Yaya and Angelina: The Spoiled Brat Movie" grossed P34 million despite Ondoy's catastrophic presence last weekend. Such a winner!

If the reports are accurate, Yaya and Angelina is a stronger hit than Spring Films’ Kimmy Dora which only earned P30 million on its first week. And if Ondoy did not visited the country last Saturday, then Yaya and Angelina could have raked in more than P34 million considering Saturday and Sunday are the biggest days in the week for movies.

APT Entertainment is now celebrating because they found a winner in the characters created by the Bubble Gang tandem Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid. And it’s a back-to-back victory because their other film, “Ded Na Si Lolo”, was chosen as the Philippine entry to the 2010 Oscars last week.

With these feat and producing critically-acclaimed and award-winning indie films like “Kamoteng Kahoy”, “Bente”, “Fuschia” and the animated film “Urduja”, APT Entertainment could be the next major player in Philippine Cinema.

Such a winner.
