Beginning tomorrow, July 2, GMA Films will take movie-goers on the edge of their seats with the suspense movie "Overtime" starring Richard Gutierrez and Lauren Young.

“Overtime” is a fast-paced, cat-and-mouse chase movie about a hacker and its victim.

Richard plays the role of Dom Garcia, the hacker who seeks revenge against a pharmaceutical company. Lauren Young, on the other hand, portrays the role of Jody Amistoso, the executive assistant working at the pharmaceutical company and the one who was sent by Richard’s character on a deadly mission.

Also starring in the movie are Mitch Valdes, Bearwin Meily, Roadfill, Renz Valerio, and Mr. Roi Vinzon, with special participation by William Martinez, Yayo Aguila, and Frencheska Farr, under the direction of Earl Ignacio and Wincy Ong who also wrote the script.

According to Ong, “Overtime” has an interesting and exciting storyline that has never been done before in a Filipino film.

“There have been many news reports of bombs going off in malls, offices and condominiums, but we haven’t really had a movie that’s about a bomb going off. When I wrote the script, I always put in mind that Filipino is the best protagonist in a film like this because we Pinoys are very resourceful in times of crisis, and we never give up,” he said.

According to Ignacio, movie-goers can expect a different Richard and Lauren in the film.

“Napaka-challenging para sa kanilang dalawa itong movie na ‘to kasi halos silang dalawa rin ang magdadala ng movie at nagawa nila iyon,” he said.

GMA Films’ “Overtime” is set to open in theaters nationwide this Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
