The ongoing feud between Joey de Leon and Willie Revillame significantly increased the viewership of their respective noontime shows Eat Bulaga and Wowowee respectively.

On Friday, Wowowee trailed closely behind Eat Bulaga with only 1.5% difference. Eat Bulaga registered 23.6% while its rival Wowowee performed at 22.1 percent rating.

But on Saturday, Wowowee shortened the gap by receiving 23.2% against Eat Bulaga‘s 23.4% percent. That’s only o.2% difference!

It’s interesting to note that Willie Revillame announced his desire to make peace with Joey de Leon last Saturday on Wowowee. He also sang a “song of forgiveness” for Joey to the delight of his studio audience. This could be the reason why Wowowee is bridging the gap…in the tv ratings of its rival show, that is.
