Supermodel Naomi Campbell Sued for Throwing a Cellphone at Her Housekeeper

Naomi Campbell, 36, is due in court in New York Wednesday to face assault charges over an incident earlier this year in which she allegedly threw a cell phone at her housekeeper named Ana Scolavino and accusing her of stealing a pair of jeans.

Campbell’s lawyer said there would be no repeat of her last scheduled court appearance in September, at which the model failed to show up.

If the case goes to trial, the British supermodel faces a possible 7-year jail term for second degree assault. The wound of her housekeeper required several stitches.

Another former employee, Gaby Gibson, has filed a separate lawsuit accusing Naomi of of personal injury, employment discrimination and assault.

Campbell was also arrested in the past for allegedly sratching her drugs counselor all over her face.
