Asian candidates are really strong this year and most of them are crowd favorites most specially that the reigning Miss International is from Asia (Precious Lara Quigaman, Philippines) and the final leg of the pageant is currently being held in China. Some of these favorites are Vietnam, Singapore, China (hometown girl), Japan, Thailand (Miss Photogenic winner) and our very own Danille Valmonte, Miss Philippines, tagged by Chinese press as "Charlie's Brown Angel" and "Filipina Lucy Liu." Other favorites to win the crown are Venezuela, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Spain, Finland, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

Our choice? Miss Venezuela as Miss International 2006. 1st runner-up is Miss Germany and 2nd runner-up is Miss Finland.
