ABS-CBN Music officially welcomed nine up-and-coming singers who will serve as the voice of the new gen through the “StarPop Ink Drop 2025” contract signing event held at the ABS-CBN Dolphy Theater.
Annrain. Bryan Chong, Drei Sugay, Enzo Almario, Janah Zaplan,JEL REY, Justin Mclaire, Kanishia Santos, and Misha De Leon inked their respective recording contracts with StarPop, the launch pad for fresh, fearless, and inspiring voices in the Philippine music scene.
StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos shared that ABS-CBN Music’s vision for their newly signed acts goes beyond the ability to showcase their artistry. They want their artists to convey authenticity in their storytelling and allow their music to reach a broader audience.
“Ang major wish ng label is makilala sila kung sino sila as an artist, yung authenticity nila bilang artist. Gusto ko ma-establish yun,” Rox said.
“And of course, we want them to be successful not just here in the Philippines through their hit songs, syempre gusto rin namin na maka-penetrate sila globally,” he added.
Aside from Rox, also present during the “StarPop Ink Drop” event were ABS-CBN Music and Integrated Events head Roxy Liquigan, ABS-CBN Music creatives, content, and operations head Jonathan Manalo, head of ABS-CBN’s music management group Abbey Aledo, and head of Polaris Reily Santiago.
Annrain, Bryan, Drei, Enzo, and Misha were products of various ABS-CBN singing competitions, while Janah, JEL REY, and Justin were discovered through their music. Kanishia, the younger sister of Kapamilya actor-singer LA Santos, is giving music a second chance with her comeback.
