BLACKPINK Breaks BTS’ YouTube Record for Most-Watched MV in 24 Hours with ‘How You Like That’
It’s official! BLACKPINK has shattered BTS‘ YouTube record for Most Watched Video in the first 24 hours. The girl group’s latest MV “How You Like That” registered 82.4 million views in a day surpassing the 74.6 million record of BTS for “Boy with Luv” last year.
Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo first captured this feat in 2018 when the music video for “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” became the most-watched K-pop MV on YouTube within 24 hours. This was followed by last year’s “Kill This Love” who reigned at no. 1 for several days before BTS released “Boy With Luv.”
It’s interesting to note that BLACKPINK achieved this milestone despite the fact that BTS released the music video for their latest Japanese single “Stay Gold” on the same day and almost at the same time! The hashtag #HowYouLikeThat topped Twitter’s trending topics worldwide while #StayGoldMV trended at no. 2.
