Alden Richards made a breakthrough for GMA Network as he becomes the only Kapuso star in 11 years to be voted “Sexiest Man in the Philippines” by netizens.

Richards, who is the star of the primetime series “Victor Magtanggol,” bested 9 other finalists in the online poll including last year’s winner James Reid by garnering 39.83% of the votes.

Although Alden is now the only Kapuso to be named “Sexiest Man” in the country, it was Aljur Abrenica who became the first GMA artist to snag the title in 2009. Aljur, however, is now a Kapamilya starring in the afternoon soap “Asintado.”

Three-time winner James Reid settled for second place this year with a total of 15.53% of the votes. Finishing third is “Araw Gabi” star JM de Guzman with 13.71% of the votes. Rounding off the Top 5 are Carlo Aquino (#4) and Xian Lim (#5).

Completing the 10 finalists are Daniel Padilla (#6), Coco Martin (#7), Dingdong Dantes (#8), Elmo Magalona (#9) and Enrique Gil (#10).
