‘The Unmarried Wife’ Fires Up Cinema One this April

Cinema One further heats up the month of April with the cable TV premiere of one of 2016’s biggest and most talked about hits, “The Unmarried Wife” starring Dingdong Dantes, Paulo Avelino and Angelica Panganiban.

The Unmarried Wife

“The Unmarried Wife” follows the story of Anne (Angelica) and the decisions she has to make after she finds out her husband Geoff (Dingdong) cheated on her repeatedly. While her marriage falls apart, she meets Bryan (Paulo) who helps take away her pain. Catch its premiere on Blockbuster Sundays, April 16 at 8PM.

More knockout films are coming your way as Blockbuster Sundays also features a dramedy, a story of bravery and self-sacrifice, and a family mystery.

“My Dear Heart” actress Bela Padilla stars as Erica Berry in “I America,” a film that evokes a sad but honest commentary on Filipinos’ colonial mentality. Erica is a complex half-Pinay, half-Caucasian living in Olongapo City. Witness her struggles as she tries to get her passport and US visa in order to meet her father personally for the first time.

Be inspired in “The Crew,” where a young aviator gets a job as a co-pilot with a civil airline after being fired from the military force. Being brutally honest, he does not get along well with his new colleagues. However, when the crew receives a distress message from a volcanic island, everyone decides to attempt a rescue mission. To succeed and survive the disaster, they must act like a team and stick up for one another.

Meanwhile, Cinema One features a family mystery with a topnotch cast and focuses its spotlight on evocative Negros in “Mana.” The matriarch of a prominent Negros family, played by Fides Cuyugan Asencio, lies on her deathbed. Her children—played by veteran actors Cherie Gil, Jaime Fabregas, Ricky Davao, Tetchie Agbayani, Epy Quizon, and the late Mark Gil—return to their ancestral home to deal with issues of inheritance and their dark family history.

Catch hit movies “I America” on April 9, “The Crew” on April 23, and “Mana” on April 30 all at 8PM on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sundays.
