Broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna talks to moms whose inspiring stories of perseverance and dedication go beyond the confines of their homes in tomorrow’s (May 8) Mother’s Day episode of “Tapatan ni Tunying.”

Mother of Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo, Luzviminda Bernardo or Mommy Min, shares how being a mom to a popular celebrity adored and idolized by thousands of young Filipinos adds to her responsibility of raising her children right.

One of the most followed aspects of the life of her daughter is the reported romance between Kathryn and onscreen partner Daniel Padilla. It is an issue she keeps open with her children.

“I don’t know ngayong panahon na ‘to kung ano ba ‘yung MU at kung sila na ba talaga. Hindi ko alam kung ano ‘yung tawag nila. Basta chill lang daw sila,” she says.

Meanwhile, Celia Veloso, mother of Filipina Mary Jane Veloso who was recently given a temporary reprieve from her death sentence in Indonesia, talks about how their family’s life in the province forced her to find better opportunities abroad.

Mary Jane comes from a family of overseas workers, her mom and all her four sisters once tried their luck abroad with no success.

Avoidant answer of course. But she seems so grounded as a mother and respected by others. As a mom, she can’t really say much, Kathniel are coworkers too , they have to keep the professionalism there. On the other hand, she guides her as much as she can but is now letting her make her own decisions. I will be protective as a mom. As much as she loves DJ, she does not want her child to get hurt, I’m positive she was affected last year by what happened. Although things have cleared up and clarified, and regardless of who the boy is, she as a mother will always want to protect her child.
