Broadcast journalist Anthony Taberna joins three taxi drivers in their trips around Metro Manila to take the pulse of the lives led by cabbies today in “Tapatan ni Tunying” tomorrow (March 27) on ABS-CBN.

Tunying meets 72-year-old taxi driver Gabriel who has been earning a living behind the wheels for five decades now. He says, his old age is not a deterrent in his profession. Gabriel supports his wife and five grandchildren – the main reason he continues this work despite the ups and downs he has encountered in his many rides.

Meanwhile, driver and sweet lover Israel has fathered eight children to five women. Driving has been his means to support the lives of his family. But it has also almost cost him his life. Israel has been a victim of highway robbery for three times now.

Driving taxis comes with risks and difficulties. Long hours, health hazards, and holdups are just some of the challenges cabbies face everyday.

To counter these, driver Gil has came up with a novel idea to add enjoyment to his work. He has installed a karaoke machine that he and his passengers can both enjoy.
