‘DZMM Takbo 2015’ on April 12 to Send 75 Scholars to School
Whatever the reason, you can help students affected by past typhoons by joining “DZMM Takbo 2015,” which will be held on April 12 (Sunday) at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Through the fun run, DZMM aims to raise funds for the continued scholarship of its 75 scholars, who have benefitted from the “Takbo Para sa Karunungan” that was launched in 2011.
The “DZMM Takbo 2015” includes the 21K category with a regular registration fee of P900, 10K (P700), 5K (P600), and 3K (P500). The fee comes with a race kit, bib number, as well as a singlet with the registrant’s preferred statement and a finisher’s shirt.
Raffle prizes will also be given away at the event.
Senior citizens can avail of the 20% discount, while students can get P100 off for any category.
Those who will register from February 23 (Monday) until March 8 will be given a P100 discount as an early bird rate. Online registration will open on Monday at dzmm.com.ph/takbo.
The on-site registration begins on March 2 at the ABS-CBN Tulong Center (9AM-5PM), Reebok branches at Trinoma and Robinsons Galleria, Royal Sporting House at Glorietta and Robinsons Ermita, and Transfer It branches at Marikina Riverbank Mall and Farmers Plaza in Cubao.
This is the fifth time DZMM is organizing a run to advocate education, following “Takbo Para sa Karunungan” that was held from 2011 to 2014 and benefited scholars from Ondoy, Sendong, and Habagat-affected areas.
DZMM started organizing fun runs in 1999, when it launched the “DZMM Takbo Para sa Kalikasan.” It was annually held until 2010 to support several campaigns for the environment, such as the continued rehabilitation of the La Mesa watershed and the Pasig Rehabilitation Project through ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Bantay Kalikasan.”
