63rd Miss Universe – Final Top 15 Hot Picks
And why do different pageant websites are having difficulties in predicting the winner of Miss Universe? I think the final question and answer portion is the usual suspect, the game changer. Remember William Baldwin’s question to Venus Raj in Miss Universe 2010 dubbed as the hardest question ever? It definitely hurt Venus’ chances in winning the crown…well aside from the Barraza gown, of course.
Having said that, I will still rank my hot picks from 1 to 15. You know me, I don’t play safe. 🙂 And since the Miss Universe Organization made it clear that they are not looking for a top model but a “spokesperson who happens to be beautiful,” here are my rankings:
1. COLOMBIA, Paulina Vega
Actually it’s a toss between Colombia and the Philippines for the crown. Aside from their catwalk prowess, their toned physique and engaging interviews, they have another thing in common: their evening gowns were created by Colombian designer Alfredo Barraza. We have to admit, Paulina’s evening gown is elegant while MJ’s bridal dress err costume err gown is weak. Just like what happened to Janine in 2012, MJ may have to settle for first runner-up placement.
2. PHILIPPINES, MJ Lastimosa
Seasoned by experience, endearing back story, undeniable charisma–these are the qualities that make MJ a shoo-in for the crown. If the judges will look deep inside the candidate and not because of what she’s wearing, then MJ is the one.
