Why Do Killer Buses Continue to Operate?

Broadcast journalist Ted Failon probes why bus companies that are facing lawsuits arising from accidents continue to operate in “Failon Ngayon” this Saturday (Jan 18).

KillerBuses
Don Mariano Transit Corporations made headlines after its bus fell from Skyway in December, killing 22 passengers. The bus company’s franchise was already suspended recently by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

But before the Don Mariano bus Skyway accident, a bus owned by Elena Liner Corporation was involved in a collision that left six dead, and a Melben Motors Corporation bus killed seven.

What happened to the charges filed against these bus companies? Why do they continue to operate?

Aside from this, Ted examines if the laws crafted by senators and congressmen help decrease the crime rate in the country and tackles the ‘Filipino Time’ or Filipinos’ trait of being always late.
