Jennifer Lopez is Back on American Idol

Jennifer Lopez is making a comeback on the next season of American Idol as one of the judges. According to reports, her new contract amounts to a whopping $15 million.

The 44-year-old pop star has been an Idol judge in the show’s season 10 and 11 and was outseated by Mariah Carey and Nikki Minaj in season 12 earlier this year.

Since Minaj and Carey got the axe from the show for lack of chemistry, Lopez reportedly negotiated with the Idol producers for possible comeback and it turned out to be a good idea.

According to Bang, it’s believed the star approached Fox about the return as she wants to be based in Los Angeles so she can have a settled life with her five-year-old twins, Max and Emme, as they prepare to go to start school.

American Idol season 13 will have three judges instead of four with one slot reserved for Keith Urban if he agrees to stay and the third slot being offered to the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am who got positive feedback from being a coach in the British version of “The Voice.”

Randy Jackson, the original judge from season 1 to 12, is no longer returning.
