Artista Academy graduates Shaira Mae and Mark Neumann will enter TV5's "Kidlat" as two of the primetime series' new villains. They will play twins Frosta and Fuego who possess the power to produce ice and fire, respectively.

During the press conference for “Kidlat” on February 19, Tuesday, at Plaza Ibarra’s Party Venue in Timog, Quezon City, it was revealed that Shaira and Mark will portray super villains in the series.

Mark Neumann portrays the hot-tempered Francis who turned into the super villain Fuego. He possesses the power to produce fire:

Shaira Mae, on the other hand, is the cold-hearted Francine who turned into the super villain Frosta. She has the ability to create ice.

When Frosta and Fuego combine their powers, they have the ability to unleash a tornado-like force that is bound to cause major destruction and double trouble for our superhero “Kidlat” played by Derek Ramsay.

Compared with their fellow Artista Academy classmates Sophie Albert and Vin Abrenica who are now playing lead roles in the teleserye “Never Say Goodbye,” Mark and Shaira are happy and contended that their first primetime project is playing support.

“Para sa akin mas gusto ko po para dito pa lang nakakapag-adjust na kami para alam namin kung paano gawin kapag nasa isang character ka at para matutunan namin ‘yung mga bagay bagay bago kami sumabak sa talagang bida na talaga,” Shaira said.

“Kahit anong role sa aming dalawa ok lang kasi at least we have something we can work on and we want to experience a variety of roles kaya kahit anong magkaron ng role ok naman po,” Mark added.

Although Shaira and Mark were packaged as a love team during their “Artista Academy” stint last year, they don’t find it weird to play twins–brothers and sisters–in their new project.

“Actually hindi naman po, actually mas ok naman po sa amin siya ngayon na magkapatid kami, mas nagiging close kami parang mas nagsisimula dun na parang madevelop ‘yung love team namin, ‘yung di na kami masyadong nahihiya” Shaira said.

“Baka sa next project, sa susunod na project, mas close na kami at mas connected na kami and mas komportable with each other,” Mark added.
