Charo Santos-Concio Led Kapamilya Stars in ‘Anak TV Fun Walk’

ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio led Kapamilya stars and executives in the recent and first Anak TV Family Fun Walk at the University of the Philippines, Diliman grounds as a show of support to Anak TV Foundation’s goal of creating a child-friendly environment for kids.

The Kapamilya network dominated the Anak TV Awards last December, receiving 25 Anak TV seals for its programs and personalities, making it as the most child-friendly TV network in the Philippines.

“We join Anak TV in their advocacy in promoting positive values and encouraging our stars to become role models for the Filipino youth,” Santos-Concio said in her speech.

The walk, entitled “Lakad mag-anak para sa Anak,” aims to promote a child-sensitive and responsible media while nourishing a strong bond within the family as it is the most significant institution.

“It is very important that television programs are child-friendly because television has already been a part of the everyday lives of the Filipino people,” Santos-Concio explained, acknowledging the role of TV networks.

Making the event even more special were Kapamilya stars Melai Cantiveros, Valerie Concepcion, and Manuel Chua; ABS-CBN news anchors Kim Atienza, Karen Davila, Bernadette Sembrano, and Winnie Cordero; and the Philippines’ pride and Miss Universe beauty queens Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, and Janine Tugonon.

Meanwhile, Rhap Salazar serenaded the crowd, while “Luv U” stars Kiray Celis, Igi Boy Flores, Angeli Gonzales, and CJ Navato rocked the stage with a dance number.

ABS-CBN also had exciting booths for participants who would want to stop by, like a booth for a quick but still very thrilling game of “Minute to Win It” and another for “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”

DZMM, on the other hand, organized story-telling sessions and provided free medical assistance and check-ups via its DZMM Teaching, Learning, and Caring (TLC) mobile classrooms and clinics.

“Masterchef Pinoy Edition” Top 7 cooks Carla, Ivory, JR, Myra, Reggie, Ronnel, and Sonny Boy were also there and did not only serve mouth-watering pica-picas but readily posed with fans.

As the event ended, Santos-Concio once again encouraged every Filipino family to “always support the TV programs that truly espouse the values of Anak TV,” and added, “May our knowledge expound more and may we find inspiration in those values, and live by with it.”
