This TV special will feature Ogie together with some of the country’s top record-setting singers who are also part of his album. His silver anniversary will be marked by an 8-segment docu-musical which elevates Ogie to the status of Master Songwriter.
Viewers will witness the story of Ogie’s beginnings from being a member of the Kundirana choir to his family’s concerted efforts to give him an opportunity to reach greater heights as an OPM artist. He will have a comedic performance of one of his hits, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala”, with Michael V. as they perform one of their most in-demand skits in Bubble Gang.
As a tribute to his parents who have supported him all the way, Ogie’s song “To You” will be performed by Richard Poon, and will be supplemented by the famous “Yaya and Angelina” skit featuring Michael V and Ogie.
In another segment, Ogie will perform “Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap” as a way of showing his appreciation for his blessings, most importantly his family. He will also interview his wife, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in their own home, and also perform “Tayong Dalawa”, the song that he wrote for their wedding.
The Silver Anniversary Special will also feature a performance by Rachelle Ann Go of the song “Mula Ngayon”. The cast of Bubble Gang’s Boy Pickup will deliver their wittiest lines with reference to Ogie’s songs and will also include a bit of repartee about him being a controversial figure. The special will also show a music video performance featuring Jaya and Jay-r with the song “Nakaw Na Sandali”.
La Diva will also perform the song “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw”, while one of Ogie’s idols, Gary Valenciano will also herald the undying stories of love with the song “Kailangan Kita”.
Meanwhile, Ogie will conduct a surprise mob chorale singing “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” held at the SM Mall Of Asia.
And lastly, Ogie will end this celebration on a comedic musical note as he reprises the segment “OJ” with his friend Janno Gibbs.
