TV5 Releases Statement on MTRCB’s Ruling to Suspend ‘T3’ for 3 Months

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has suspended the Tulfo Brothers' public affairs program on TV5--"T3: Kapatid Sagot Kita"--for 3 months effective today, May 30, 2012.

Aside from the suspension, the MTRCB also imposed a penalty of P100,000 on the show following the threats made by the hosts of the said TV5 program, the Tulfo Brothers, on showbiz couple Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto, who figured in a scuffle with their older brother Mon at NAIA 3.

TV5 was disappointed with the latest ruling and has released an official statement as follows:

“TV5 regrets the decision of the MTRCB and views it as an act in excess of its jurisdiction. At this point, TV5 will turn to the Court of Appeals and seek judgment in its pending petition to enjoin the MTRCB from further enforcing the sanctions until a definitive ruling is made on the issue of grave abuse of discretion committed by the Censorship Board.”
