Shamcey Supsup is the Only Miss Universe 2011 Finalist to Answer the Final Question Without an Interpreter

Shamcey Supsup exuded a certain conviction during the question and answer portion for the final 5 contestants of the recently-concluded Miss Universe 2011 pageant.

American actress Vivica Fox asked Shamcey Supsup, “Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love? Why or why not?”

Supsup answered, “If I would have to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is God, who created me.”

“I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. If the person loves me, he’ll love my God, too,” she added.

Shamcey Supsup was the only one among the final 5 contestants who answered the judge’s question without an aid of an interpreter.

Supsup ranked 4th over-all (or 3rd runner up), a place higher than her predecessor, Venus Raj, who finished fifth last year.
