‘Way Back Home’ Grosses P18-M in First 5 Days

"Way Back Home" opened at no. 1 in the Philippines last weekend.

After Hollywood movies ruled Philippine box-office for 13 consecutive weeks, a Pinoy movie finally captured no. 1 slot and it’s the Kathryn Bernardo-Julia Montes starrer “Way Back Home.”

The Star Cinema family drama opened last weekend with a modest P18 million beating Hollywood films Conan the Barbarian and Crazy Stupid Love which also debuted in the country at no. 3 and 4 slots respectively.

Meanwhile, Transformers: Dark of the Moon became the first movie to cross the P400 million box-office gross in the country for 2011. The Michael Bay film has grossed P415.74-M in the Philippines in 8 weeks.
