Pacquiao vs. Mosley Bout Updates – Live Blogging Fight Results

Live blogging the highly-anticipated bout….
According to ANC, attendence is 16,412 at the packed MGM Grand.
Pre-Fight:
11:49 am: Charice enters the ring to sing the national anthem of the Philippines.
11:53 am: Multi-platinum artist Tyrese Gibson sings USA’s national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner.
11:56 am: Jamie Fox is now singing “America the Beautiful.”
11:57 am: Arena goes dark as ‘THIS IS BOXING’ is now blasting on all screens. Crowd cheers for the two boxing champs.
11:58 am: Manny Pacquiao enters the ring to the tune of “Eye of the Tiger” as the crowd chants “Manny! Manny! Manny!” Just like before, he kneels on one corner of the ring to say a little prayer. Then he stands and waves to the crowd.
11:59 am: Shane Mosley, wearing black trunks, enters the ring. Pacman’s wearing blue.
12:03 am: Bout begins after introductions. Kenny Bayless is the referee for the fight.
ROUND 1
Pacquiao and Mosley testing each other. The first punch of the fight belongs to Mosley as he lands a good jab with 25 seconds to go. Pacman misses a big right hook.
ROUND 2
Pacquiao lands a 1-2 combination to the head to the crowd’s delight, shouting “Manny! Manny! Manny!” He’s more aggresive now than in the first round. Pacman connects with a series of punches at the last 30 seconds of Round 2.
ROUND 3
Pacquiao knocks down Mosley with a straight left, 1:17 to go in the third round! Shane’s up, but Pacquiao hit him again with another huge punch. It looks like Pacman is trying to end the fight now as he lands another combination to Mosley’s head. Pacquiao is definitely winning!!!
Trivia: Pacquiao is the only the second fighter in history to floor “Sugar” Shane Mosley.
ROUND 4
Pacquiao exhibits his signature speed in the fourth round. He throws punches left and right then Mosley ties him up. Pacman lands a 1-2 combination and Shane looks disoriented. Mosley connects a combination but Pacquiao returns.
ROUND 5
Shane Mosley becomes a little aggressive throwing left and right at Manny. Then he lands a hard right to Manny’s body. Pacman returns with a set of combinations as Shane consistently moves to his left side avoiding Pacman’s jabs. Mosley is energetic on this round but it’s enough, Round 5 still belongs to Pacman.
ROUND 6
Mosley becomes cautious. The crowd are booing perhaps because of lack of activity. Manny Pacquiao connects in the last 30 seconds of the round.
ROUND 7
The fighters begin with mild jabs. Both are less aggressive now and the crowd are still booing at the end of the round.
ROUND 8
Shane hits Manny with a right. Manny looks for an opening but he is less aggressive now. Perhaps he is avoiding Shane’s power. The lack of activity keeps the crowd booing. Manny hits Mosley with a right to the head. He is trying to land a strong right hook but Shane gets the opportunity to land a hard right on him.
ROUND 9
Shane and Manny bump heads. Crowd still unsatisfied because of lack of action on the first 30 seconds of this round. But then Manny lands a right hook throwing Shane on the ropes. Pacman gets a little aggressive chasing Mosley and his advances are successful. Pacman connects with a right hook and straight left. Pacman definitely scored big on this round!
ROUND 10
Mosley’s face looks tired but his energy seems to return as he delivers combinations against Pacquiao. Unexpectedly, Mosley knocks down Pacquiao! Mosley wins on this round.
ROUND 11
The crowd is booing because it seemed like there was no punch that cause the knockdown in round 10 but still, Mosley gets the points. Pacman looks a little angry now as he lands a huge left on Mosley’s face. Our Pambansang Kamao becomes more aggresive now as if he wants to avenge the unfair scoring in round 10 and he’s successful. He connects with fast combinations as the crowd goes wild.
ROUND 12
A doctor enters the stage to check on Mosley, who has beaten severely in Round 11. Pacquiao lands a right hook and Mosley seems to know that the fight is over as he’s just avoiding further injuries. Pacman connects left and right.
DECISION: By unanimous decision, 119-108, 120-108 and 120-107, all in favor of our Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao.
