Miss Earth 2010 Kicks Off in Vietnam
The competition started yesterday in Vietnam, November 4, as more than 80 delegates from around the world are expected to arrive. Miss Earth 2009 Larissa Ramos of Brazil, and beauties from Jamaica, Mauritius, Guam and Mexico graced the press conference to officially open the 2010 Miss Earth pageant and its month-long activities.
The 10th Miss Earth will be crowned on December 4, 2010 at Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang in Vietnam. It will be broadcast by STAR World, VTV, ABS-CBN, The Filipino Channel, and other partner networks (to be announced).
The Miss Earth winner will serve as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations.

Cuba – Was not allowed to compete unless they held a national pageant in their own country (Cuba selected their delegate in the United States).
Pakistan – Was not allowed to compete unless they held a national pageant in their own country (Miss Pakistan 2010 took place in Canada).
Hungary – Original Miss Earth contestant Jennifer Kalo ended up competing at Miss World 2010 due to Agnes Dobo injury.
Sweden – Lack of funding and sponsorship.
Turks & Caicos – No national pageant held; lack of funding and sponsorship.

ano toh? di naman masyadong prominent tong pageant na to unlike miss universe and miss world which are really well-established beauty pageant organizations!
I don’t know why they won’t allow Cuba and Pakistan to join just because the representative were selected in different country. Miss Earth organization should have known that beauty pageant that will held in Pakistan for example could cause riots because of their culture and religion.

Miss universe 2008 was held in vietnam and the show was fantastic. Good luck sa lahat ng contestants. Mas maraming delegates ang miss earth ngaun compare to Miss U.
Sayang nga lang at recycled lang ung corona nila (i mean recycled gems) unlike Miss U na diamonds talaga. Anyways, Go green!!!!!!!
