Piolo Pascual Ventures into a Different Role in ‘Noah’

The ultimate heartthrob--Piolo Pascual--returns to primetime with a role that he has never done before.

We’ve seen Piolo played the role of Oslec in “Mangarap Ka,” Adrian in “Sa Piling Mo”, Noah in “Lobo” and Carlo in “Lovers in Paris.”

In the upcoming primetime series “Noah”, Piolo will be playing the role of Gabriel, a policeman who will lose his son (Zaijan Jaranilla) in an accident that changed the course of their lives.

During the press conference of “Noah” which was held yesterday (July 6) at the Dolphy Theater, Piolo shared with Starmometer and to other members of the press why he ventured into a different role.

“I’ve done so many soaps already, puro mga romance, puro mga drama, and when this was offered I just felt na something new, something different, something that I’ve never done before and when this was offered, Zaijan was still doing May Bukas Pa and who could resist Zaijan,” the Ultimate Heartthrob said.

“This project has been with ABS for so many years na, ngayon lang na-develop so mahirap tanggihan ang ganitong klaseng proyekto. For me gusto ko makagawa ng iba naman…first of all, hindi siya typical love story na babae lalake. It involves a family and another world which is the jungle, ‘yung Noah, so through Noah marami kang madi-discover. As an actor I think mas na-challenge ako because hindi ako mag-co-concentrate sa love story, but more on love for the family at ‘yung konsepto po niyan ay di naman siya typical na drama lang kundi pam-pamilya pa and also may fantasy element at marami pang surprises,” he added.

Aside from Piolo and Zaijan, other cast members include Jodi Sta. Maria-Lacson as Ruth, Cherry Pie Picache as Rebecca, Melissa Ricks as Naomi, Joem Bascon as Judah, Jolo Revilla as Levi, Tessie Tomas as Sarah, Baron Geisler as Caleb, Barbie Sabino as Lotlot, Nonie Buencamino as Gideon, Lou Veloso as Zatoc, Ana Capri as Adah and Kristine Hermosa as Victoria. The characters’ names were all taken from the Bible.

Get ready to witness a story arced on love and family as ABS-CBN takes you to the enchanting island of “Noah”, directed by Malu Sevilla and Lino Cayetano, beginning July 12.
