‘Cinco’ is Star Cinema’s Upcoming Horror Movie

Star Cinema is prepping up for their first horror movie of the year entitled "Cinco."

“Cinco” is a horror movie with 5 episodes. Some of the cast includes Rayver Cruz, Maja Salvador, Sam Concepcion, Mariel Rodriguez, AJ Perez, Pokwang, Robi Domingo and Jason Gainza.

Young singer and actor Sam Concepcion topbills the episode called “Braso.” He and fellow Gigger Boys Robi Domingo and AJ Perez will play newbie members of a fraternity. Sam is excited about doing a movie with his friends.

“It’s great. Never ko pa silang nakasama sa isang movie. Lagi kaming sumasayaw together. We did (Your Song presents) Boystown, pero ito ‘yung first movie namin together. Another fun experience for us.”

In the said episode, Sam, AJ and Robi are required to strip down to their underwear. AJ Perez, who is also in the main cast, is up for the challenge.

“Parang it’s a way of saying na this is one way of growing up as an artist. I’m up for it. Me and Robi are doing Muay Thai na so we can get into shape para when the time comes we need to do mature roles we are ready. And I can say na ready na ako.”

It will be directed by Frasco Mortiz of Banana Split and Goin’ Bulilit.

Another episode in “Cinco” is entitled “Mata.” It will star Maja Salvador and Rayver Cruz. Maja and Rayver are both expected to portray mature and offbeat roles in the said episode.

“Siguro mas intense na yung mga role namin kasi mas matatanda na kami kasi yung nung huli ko pa siya naka-partner pa-tweetums pa kami so excited na ako,” said Rayver.

But he then clarified that “intense scenes” do not always mean sexy scenes. “Hindi naman kapag sinabing pa-sexy dapat hubad-hubad talaga. Basta may mga other ways naman para maging mukhang sexy yung pelikula. Tsaka kapag horror naman more on takutan lang talaga. ‘Di naman masyado yung mga sexy na eksena. Basta kahit anong gawin ko kapag si Maja yung katrabaho ko komportable talaga ako, walang problema.”

Maja, on the other hand, is preparing on how she will attack the role differently from her numerous horror movie roles in the past.

“Gusto ko ibang atake ang makita sa akin ng mga tao dito. Ilang horror na rin ang nagawa ko. Ayoko namang sabihin ng mga tao, ‘Naku, iisa lang naman ang hitsura ni Maja kapag natatakot!’ Gusto ko pag-aralan nang maiigi itong character ko dito sa Cinco,” she said.

The other three episodes of “Cinco” will be revealed by Star Cinema in the coming days. It has a scheduled July release, right after the Father’s Day offering “I’ll Be There” starring Gabby Concepcion, Jericho Rosales and KC Concepcion.
