Coco Martin, Dennis Trillo Winners at 7th ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards
Coco Martin bested Star Awards winner John Lloyd Cruz (In My Life) in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Drama) category. Other nominees in the said category were Allen Dizon (Dukot), Emilio Garcia (Sagrada Familia),
Sam Milby (And I Love You So), Felix Roco (Engkwentro), Alfred Vargas (Colorum) and Gawad Urian winner Lou Veloso (Colorum).
In the category Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Drama, Musical or Comedy), the trophy went to Dennis Trillo for his performance in “Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love.” Dennis bested John Apacible (Dukot), Emilio Garcia (Bente), Jojit Lorenzo (Last Supper No. 3), Star Awards winner Luis Manzano (In My Life), John Regala (Kinatay). The Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor this year was Soliman Cruz for the indie film Himpapawid. Soliman was not nominated in the Golden Screen Awards.
On the other hand, the trophy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Musical or Comedy) went to Roderick Paulate (Ded Na Si Lolo). John Lloyd Cruz was also nominated in this category for his comedic performance in the box office hit movie “You Changed My Life.” The third and last nominee in this category was Joey Paras for the Cinemalaya winning film “Last Supper No. 3.”
