2010 Presidential Candidates Face the Youth on ANC Forum
After focusing on getting citizens to register to vote last year, “BMPM: Ako ang Simula” is now stepping up the ante as it enters the next phase of the movement with a stronger and bolder challenge to citizens, especially the youth.
“We can’t stop at asking them to register to vote. We need them to act. That is why our question to Filipinos now is, “what is the change you will start for the country,” said ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs director Anna Rodriguez-Dela Cruz, who oversees the on-ground activities of BMPM.
Top ABS-CBN anchors have already heeded the call and answered this question in television plugs airing in the network.
“I will tell more stories that will change the lives of Filipinos,” “TV Patrol World” and “The Correspondents” anchor Karen Davila shared.
“I will start exercising to give me energy to help other people,” shared Henry Omaga-Diaz of “Bandila.”
On the “BMPM Day” on Friday (Jan 29), Filipinos will also answer this question as they participate in a “day of change” from different points in the country.
The big day will begin in “Umagang Kay Ganda,” with a first peek at the BMPM micro website, which will carry the verified reports of Boto Patrollers from all over the world. The site will be formally launched during the “Ako ang Simula” concert on March.
There will be correspondents reporting from live points in Davao, Cebu, and Dagupan. Boto Patroller booths will also be setup in these provinces for those who want to join BMPM’s 60,000-strong group of citizen journalists this elections.
Finally, presidential aspirants will face the youth at the De La Salle University in Manila for the first ANC Presidential Youth Forum of 2010 at 2pm, followed by ANC’s second Poll Automation Forum at 8pm,which will be broadcast simultaneously on ANC (SKYCABLE ch. 27), DZMM TeleRadyo (SKYCABLE ch. 26) and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630.
Filipinos all over the world may also view the forums via live streaming on www.abs-cbnnews.com and interact with other viewers on social networking sites like Multiply, Facebook and Twitter.
This jam-packed “BMPM Day” highlights ABS-CBN’s election coverage “Halalan 2010: AKO ANG SIMULA,” maximizing the network’s multi-platform news organization (radio, television, cable TV, and new media), to continue empowering the Filipino through excellent journalism.
