YouTube Wedding Video Sends Chris Brown Back to Charts

In the same week that Chris Brown made a public apology on YouTube, a viral video of a wedding participants dancing hip hop down the aisle to Brown's song "Forever" returned him to the charts.

The song sold 50,000 downloads during the week ended July 26 up a whopping 1,721% from the previous week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It re-entered and climbed to no. 21 on the Hot Digital Songs chart and was considered the best sales week for any of Chris Brown’s songs since Christmas week of 2008, when “Forever” sold 77,000. This is also the first time Chris Brown entered the chart since January 2009.

On July 20, Chris Brown uploaded a video statement on YouTube to apologize to the public regarding the much talked-about incident with Rihanna. It has received 2.4 million views.

Coincidentally, newlyweds Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson posted the videoclip of their wedding party dancing down the aisle to the tune of Brown’s “Forever” on YouTube a day earlier. By Thursday it was already the site’s most-viewed clip of the month, with 12.1 million views.
