Manny Pacquiao is blaming ABS-CBN for prematurely showing the video of him rescinding his contract with Solar Sports. ABS-CBN, on the other hand, released an official statement.

The Pambansang Kamao claimed that he did not want to go on air and announce that he has switched back to ABS-CBN until it was established that his contract with Solar, good from 2007 until 2011, had indeed been violated.

“Ayoko muna gumawa sana ng video. Sabi ko titingnan ko pa ang Solar contract kung may violation nga,” said Pacquiao in an interview by Philippine Star.

“Walang violation so hindi dapat nilabas. Abugado nila ang gumawa ng statement,” he added.

The last video of Pacman was aired on March 20 on TV Patrol World saying “My decision is still the same. Watch my fight with Ricky Hatton on ABS-CBN.”

ABS-CBN, on the other hand, was surprised with Manny Pacquiao’s statement. The kapamilya network aired the first video of Pacman stating his change of media partner last Wednesday, March 18, 2009. ABS-CBN claims that they aired the video after Manny Pacquiao gave them the go signal.

Two more videos were shown last Thursday and Friday with Manny informing the televiewers to tune in to ABS-CBN for the coverage of his bout against Ricky Hatton. Again, these videos were show with Pacman’s permission.

ABS-CBN News released a statement regarding the matter:

Sinasagot namin ang mga akusasyon ni Pacquiao, dahil sinisira na nito ang mga pinahahalagahan namin bilang mamamahayag: ang makatotohanang pagbabalita at paggalang sa aming source.

Gayunpaman, patuloy kaming magbabalita tungkol sa laban ni Pacquiao at igagalang ang kanyang desisyon na makipagkasundo sa alinmang kumpanya para sa kanyang mga laban.

Hangad din ng ABS-CBN ang tagumpay ni Pacquiao sa kanyang mga laban.
