22-year-old Filipino American Sonya Balmores is on the cover of the very first issue of Women's Health Philippines this April.

Sonya Balmores is an actress and beauty queen from Kalaheo, Hawaii who has competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant and won 1st runner-up in 2004.

In 2005, Balmores appeared on the covers of Women’s Health, Outside and Foam magazines. She is currently playing the role of Kai in Beyond the Break on The N, a series previously given the tentative title Boarding School.

Balmores attended Kalaheo Elementary School and graduated from Kauai High School. She is a visual communications student at Hawaii Pacific University.
