Cherry Pie Picache Wins Second International Best Actress Award

Her portrayal of a lesbian in Kaleldo won for her first international Best Actress Award. This year, Cherry Pie Picache scored another win, this time for the movie "Foster Child."

Cherry Pie’s role in Brillante Mendoza‘s Foster Child is a caring woman temporarily taking care of children about to be adopted. This role won for her the Best Actress Award from the Durban International Film Festival. This is her second consecutive win in DIFF where 21 countries are in competition including South Africa, Germany, Taiwan, France and the United States.

The film also bagged the Best Film Award in the 29th edition of the festival featuring films from more than 95 countries from July 23 to August 3, 2008.
