Comedian Owen Wilson sought time on Monday to "heal in private" after The National Enquirer, Star magazine and other media reported that he has committed suicide.

38 year-old Wilson, best known for hit movies like You, Me and Dupree, The Wedding Crashers and Starsky and Hutch, asked the media to give him privacy during his process of healing.

US tabloids Star magazine and National Enquirer cited unnamed sources as saying Wilson tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist and taking drugs. Star said he was discovered by a family member, who called for help.
