Ryan Seacrest To Host Emmy Awards

Ryan Seacrest, host of top-rated television show "American Idol," has been picked to host the primetime Emmy Awards this September. The Emmys are like the Oscars for television and previous hosts were talk show icons Ellen DeGeneres and Conan O'Brien. I wonder when will they pick Oprah to host the Emmys or the Oscars because that would be awesome. Anyway, 32 years old Seacrest is a good host and he can throw some wise cracks and he can also mock some celebrities just like what he is doing with Simon Cowell in American Idol. Seacrest is also a managing editor and anchor for cable TV’s “E! News,” has served as a guest host for the popular “Larry King Live” talk show, and has hosted other awards shows. He has worked in radio since the age of 16.

“(He) appeals to a broad audience … so he should serve as a magnet for attracting a diverse array of viewers to our Emmy telecast,” said Dick Askin, chairman of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which awards the Emmys.

I’m rooting for Grey’s Anatomy for Best Drama, Ugly Betty for Best Comedy and High School Musical for Best Movie made for Television.
