Sanjaya Malakar is Eliminated

Ryan Seacrest divided the seven finalists into two different groups. On the left was Sanjaya Malakar, Lakisha Jones and Blake Lewis. On the right was Chris Richardson, Jordin Sparks and Phil Stacey. Ryan Seacrest told Melinda Doolittle that she was safe, and then asked her to join the group that she thought was safe (haven't we seen this before?). Melinda Dolittle sat down in center stage instead of joining a group, and the crowd went crazy. Seacrest told Melinda to slide to her left and join the group of Chris, Jordin, and Phil as they were safe this week. The bottom three were Sanjaya Malakar, Lakisha Jones, and Blake Lewis. Ryan Seacrest told Blake Lewis that he was safe. Sanjaya Malakar and Lakisha Jones were the bottom 2. Seacrest announced that after over 38 million votes, Sanjaya Malakar is eliminated. I think this is one of the best results show on American Idol. There are lots of wise-cracks, exciting deliberation, great performances from guest stars, best group performance of the finalists this season and the tribute to Sanjaya is really touching.
