My Girl’s average rating for the month of June and July ranges from 20% to 22% while its counterpart series I Love New York is 28% to 30%. Korea’s romantic series usually soars above any competition. Remember GMA‘s first koreanovela Endless Love? It has put GMA on the asianovela map that’s why they imported a lot of these goods from Korea after the original Endless love and as expected, they all delivered great ratings from 30% to a whopping 40% and above (Full House average rating was 42%). But the million dollar question is: how come koreanovelas imported by ABS CBN do not perform the way koreanovelas perform with GMA? Is it about promotions? Or GMA gets the best koreanovelas leaving the not-so-best to ABS CBN? It may be true. “My Name is Kim Sam Soon” was Korea’s best tv series for 2005 and GMA got it.

Anywayz, getting the best deal or no deal with Koreanovelas, ABS CBN is more than happy with the performance of My Girl in philippine tv. The ratings may not be on top but it’s giving a good fight. And most importantly, the lead actor “Lee Dong Wook” better known as Julian conquered the hearts of Pinoys and pinays all over the archipelago. We made him our Hunk of the Month for July. Even the most commented post here in Starmometer is about him for Pete’s sake!
